Orlando isn’t called “The City Beautiful” for no reason. In the heart of Downtown Orlando, Lake Eola Park welcomes visitors from across the world to it’s tranquil cityscape views. From the sunny days to the city-lit nights, stroll around the picturesque lake as swans paddle through the waters and the lake fountain presents dazzling colors as it shoots water into the sky.
There’s plenty to do with the family when visiting Lake Eola. Rent one of the swan-shaped paddle boats and paddle your way past real swans in the lake, perfect for couples and families. If you’d rather stay on land, stop by the local Publix or one of the nearby neighborhood restaurants for a quick bite to eat and, if you have a blanket ready, bring the food back to the park and have a picnic by the water.
Events are a common occurrence at Lake Eola giving visitors something to do almost every weekend. On select days and nights, the Walt Disney Amphitheater comes to life showcasing concerts and movie nights. It’s a great way to appreciate the arts while taking advantage of the outdoors. Other events include weekend festivals and Saturday farmers markets where local vendors circle the lake offering locally grown goods and handmade art pieces.
Lake Eola is open daily from 6 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. with street parking available. Swan paddle boats can be rented Sunday through Tuesday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Wednesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
